Loveology: God. Love. Marriage. Sex. And the Never-Ending Story of Male and Female.
Finally--a theology of love that will help you navigate the confusing waters of modern relationship.
In the beginning, God created Adam. Then he made Eve. And ever since we've been picking up the pieces.
With an autobiographical thread that turns a book into a story, pastor and speaker John Mark Comer shares about what is right in male/female relationships--what God intended in the Garden. And about what is wrong--the fallout in a post-Eden world.
Loveology starts with marriage and works backward. Comer deals with sexuality, romance, singleness, and what it means to be male and female; ending with a raw, uncut, anything goes Q and A dealing with the most asked questions about sexuality and relationships.
This is a book for singles, engaged couples, and the newly married--both inside and outside the church--who want to learn what the Scriptures have to say about sexuality and relationships. For those who are tired of Hollywood's propaganda, and the church's silence. And for people who want to ask the why questions and get intelligent, nuanced, grace-and-truth answers, rooted in the Scriptures.

The Amazing, Original View of Sex, Marriage and Romance.
Two words: So. Good. I hadn't read anything by John Mark Comer before, but now I'm definitely looking at reading his other books. The depth, honesty, intensity and openness of Loveology really makes it a great tool for getting God's perspective on some of the most important topics in life. So good. As a young man (not even in my twenties yet), this was a great, consuming, eye-opening book that I'm so grateful God allowed me to read. I saw a video for it on Jefferson Bethke's YouTube channel and knew from that moment that I needed to read it. Although it took a few months, I finally ordered the book and got in the mail a few days later. The information and perspective this book both gave me and enforced are priceless. If you're a young man (or "teenager), and a Christian one a that, you NEED to read this book. If you're a young woman (or "teenager"), and a Christian one at that, you also NEED to read this book. As the younger generation, this is stuff we need to get. We have our entire lives ahead of us, and the more things we do God's way the first time around, the more He can do through us and for us as we continue down our path for life. Sexuality, marriage, romance, and God's place in all of this has been so freaking warped and twisted in our spiraling American culture. We need God's truth on this topic like *crazy.* Everyone does, but especially Christian youth. God has amazing things for us to do, but we can't do those things if we have bad relationships, wrong views of sex or warped ideas of marriage standing in the way. And while this book is definitely not the only way for us to get this truth, it is an extremely good start.
Highly
Amazing read. Love John Mark’s work and I wish I had read this before getting married or dating. So much great advice and theology and it’s laid out wonderfully. Highly recommend as a personal read and to gift to those engaged or dating.
Fantastic
Fantastic read. I love everything John Mark Comer. Garden City was my favorite, but really enjoyed this one a lot too.
Very Beautiful book
I would recommend getting this book for your teen or a pre-marriage gift. etc. The author is amazing with beautiful humor.
Biblical book that is helpful for marriage
I’m already a fan of John Mark Comer, and this book contributes to his well written collection. The text is organized in a way that is easy to read, and the context is biblical and helpful. High recommend this book and his others!
A solid book
Nothing groundbreaking for a mature Christian but great for someone new to faith or someone looking for concrete ways to communicate the basics of Christian sexuality.
Fresh take and then some!
So, I read Love-ology because the synopsis seemed compelling. I read it almost non-stop because it challenged much of my thinking as a Christian of 30 years. More importantly, it convicted me about the import and impact of being loving and encouraging and supportive of my friends, married and single. I plan to "make" all my buds of faith read it - even if I have to buy it. I knew NADA about Pastor Comer and now I will read his other book. I loved that he shouted out my NYC pastor Tim Keller who is also mad cool. Personally, I think Love-ology is a must read for single and hoping not to stay single believers.
Highlighting in the book already
I really enjoyed ordering this book slightly used. It was delivered faster than prime delivers, mainly because of COVID-19. I wish there wasn't highlighting in there already, but I knew I was buying it used! Very impressed.
John Mark does a wonderful job of explaining love and what perfect love looks ...
This book is much needed for our generation. It is real, authentic, and thought-provoking. John Mark does a wonderful job of explaining love and what perfect love looks like. I am a much better person for reading this. I feel like I have been blessed by John Mark's words.
If Ever Our Generation Needed A Book It's This One
John Mark Comer has completely wrecked the way I look at love and marriage. Loveology is deeply rooted in scripture and biblical hermunetics and is a must read for any young adult. If you are in love - read this book. If you want to be in love - read this book. if you think you are in love - read this book. Unlike other books about "real marriage" I'm not ashamed to give this book to single friends. He presents biblical sexual intimacy truthfully and tastefully that will not leave singles battling lusts after reading. This book will challenge you to consider the kind of cross-shaped love that carries a relationship past the early deep feelings of affection and into the whole messiness of life. I was convicted and challenged. If ever our generation needed a book, this is the one.
