Oh GOOD! Easy to see without eye glasses.
So nice to have a paper tape on this modern calculator. I also use it for genealogy which requires date calculations and having it next to the PC gives me the convenience of having a paper reference without using pen and loose papers. The "modern touch" this calculator has is a built-in clock, and calendar; handy for bookkeeping tasks, and genealogy work, as well as any miscellaneous use where the date and time are required. The keypad has a solid touch - easy to work. The screen display is easy to read.

Printing Calculator
This unit replaces another Sharp calculator which finally expired after more than 20 years of hard service. This unit is almost the same, but unfortunately, nothing is made as it was years ago. Manufacturers have found it advantageous to make everything lighter, thinner, and generally more cheaply, and the quality is not as good. On the other hand, at least out of the box, this calculator does exactly what it is supposed to. The keys are arranged in the right place for me (some manufacturers seem to have the keys in rather bizarre arrangements). It is also fast and quiet and compact without being cramped. Importantly to me, the feel of the keys as you input data is good. The keys themselves, and their distance from each other, are comfortable (I personally do not like the sculpted "Chiclet-like" keys that butt up against each other; for me at least, those keys tend to encourage physical slips that result in incorrect entries). The "Chiclet" keys also seem to have a short distance of travel; in other words, you do not and cannot press the keys very far. Some might find that an advantage - I like to be able to depress the key for what feels like a 1/4" or so. This gives feedback to your brain when you are entering data (particularly in a hurry) that you have actually made the entry. This unit provides that feedback. My much-missed older printing calculator described above cost several times the price of this one, and I would gladly pay that price again for the heft and quality of the unit, but no one seems to offer anything similar. I was going to rate this unit 4 stars, because it is not perfect. But is does all the basic functions well - and then some. From my extensive explorations of what is available, I don't think there is a better unit out there, and some are offered at two to three times the price.

I bought this one for personal use at home and it does great. The tape (paper) doesn't get jammed
As an accountant I use this product almost daily. My last one lasted for at least 6 years (it was used by the previous employee for I don't know how many years). I bought this one for personal use at home and it does great. The tape (paper) doesn't get jammed. The ink rolls haven't had any issues with drying out. The numbers are easy to read on the display as well as the print out. The keys are easy to push. The speed can keep up with me, others have had delays. It's fairly quiet for being a printing calculator.

My FAVORITE calculator of all time
My FAVORITE calculator of all time! In acctg, you are as good as your tools and this is my fave. Total button at the thumb. :-) Update: here's a pic with dimensions. The paper is fully extended . Also for those who have questions about the decimal point; if you do not want to constantly hit the decimal while you are adding, use the pic and set yours that way. It will automatically put in the decimal to look like this 0.00.

These are the only calculators we use in our office. As older models break down we replace them with this one.!!!

Great machine at reasonable cost!
Sorry, thought I had already done the feedback! This is a wonderful machine - I just use it in my tax business .....I know, using a mechanical adding machine when you already have a computer, well its more than that to me. I've been in the tax business for over 40 years and not once during those years did I not have a calculator on hand. Or for that matter, an IBM Selectric Typewriter - not sure I could do my job without both of these "old style mechanical pieces". Thanks guys - great machine at a very reasonable price.

Quiet, easy to operate, standard Sharp quality!
Quiet, easy to operate. I like the calendar and clock feature on this model. Very good for timing clients' work. I chose this model this time because it's not as wide as some others I have, and will fit in a smaller space. I always buy Sharp adding machines (I own 7 between my home and offices). The buttons are dependably in the same location so I don't have to adjust when I go from one to the other; they are actually arranged to be most efficiently operated with a left hand, with the thumb (strongest) on the add button, leaving a person's right hand free from having to lay the pen down to operate the adding machine, making for more efficiency.

Wore out the first one...bought a second one.
If you need a calculator with printer on it, this one works great. Good all around calculator with printer. Keys press easily. Nice 12 digit panel showing the entries. Movable decimal. Printer can be turned off/on. Take standard ribbons and paper rolls.

Love my Sharp.
Needed an upgrade from the Casio. This calculator is perfect. Love the touch of the keys and fast print. Thanks.
